Why choose either of those pizza companies when you can make your own homemade, real food pizza dough for pennies. Yes, pennies. :)
Did I mention it is so easy to make? Well it is. Yes!
Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups of white whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 tsp yeast (one small package - if you buy yeast that way)
- 1 tbsp coconut palm sugar
- 1/4 cup of EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
- 1 1/4 cup of water
Directions
- In a separate small bowl mix the yeast, water, and coconut palm sugar together and let it sit for 10 minutes (until it starts to get foamy).
- In another bowl mix the rest of the ingredients together and pour the wet yeast mixture together.
- Stir everything together and knead the dough for 3 minutes.
- Cover and let the dough sit until it rises, roughly 30 minutes. I put it in the oven.
- Divide the dough into two portions and freeze if you are not making a pan pizza - like I was.
- Roll out the dough to fit in the pan.
- Bake pan for 5 minutes at 450 degrees.
- Add clean homemade pizza sauce and toppings.
- Bake for 15 minutes at 450 degrees.
- Slice and serve!
